Repositioning & Fundraising for a Nonprofit

Business Advisory

The organization was redefining its board and business structure while developing its vision, mission, and value proposition.

situation

Autism Communities, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2016, provides adults with autism a home of their own in a vibrant community setting. During its foundational stage, the organization sought guidance for its Executive Director and board as they defined its direction, developed its public presence, and prepared fundraising initiatives.

challenge

Initially known as Long Island Autism Communities, the organization was redefining its board and business structure while developing its vision, mission, and value proposition. Decisions about its name, identity, website, and fundraising communications were taking place alongside that foundational work.

Approach

Executive Advisory & Organizational Direction

  • Helped the board frame its vision, mission, and value proposition to establish a shared foundation for organizational decisions and communications.

  • Advised the Executive Director on website content and creative direction to translate the organization’s purpose into a clear public introduction.

  • Guided the development of the new identity and website content to reflect the organization’s direction under the Autism Communities name.

  • Advised on gala collateral, including a playbook, to communicate its mission consistently and support fundraising outreach.

  • Advised on the planning and marketing of a fundraising joint venture with a corporate sponsor to raise awareness and engage prospective supporters.

Results

Established Organizational Foundation

  • A defined vision, mission, and value proposition provided a shared framework for organizational communications.

  • The new name, corporate identity, and website gave the organization a cohesive public presence.
